Hemlock Hill Farm is a long standing, working family farm in Westchester County New York. The DeMaria family took their farm online with a website we built for them. As a part of the overall design work we did, a logo was a main component. Lori Lustig Executive Search
There are some websites that make fantastic examples of how less makes more impact. We worked with Lori Lustig on this site closely and it was relatively easy because she was so decisive, knowing exactly what she wanted. We are both extremely happy with the results. This site contains examples of some very elegant Flash animation. We are of the opinion that a Flash intro should be engaging and not invite a visitor to "skip" it. We will typically argue to build the intro directly into the home page to increase usability, allowing visitors to navigate from the very first screen. Lori's logo won a Big W Bronze award in 2008 since it was completed prior to the launch of the site, and we were honored twice with this job when the website was also awarded a Big W Silver in 2009. Concorde Personnel
Concorde Personnel was in need of a redesign and wanted a site they could manage themselves. Because they are an employment company, they needed a way to post and manage jobs within many categories. We created a CMS with some customized functionality where each person that posts a job receives all correspondence related to that job. Jobs can be published easily but also unpublished but not deleted to save time if the same job becomes available more than once. In addition to the customized CMS, we have injected our own brand of SEO and Concorde is getting many great positions in the search engines and a steady flow of candidates responding to their offers. This site was also awarded a Big W from the Advertising Club of Westchester in 2009. |
Venus Virtual Smile
Venus Virtual Smile is a custom built online web application using Flash, PHP, and MySQL to provide a fun online experience and the abiity to make your own cosmetic dental makeover. Visitors can upload their own snapshots into the site and use specially built tools to either drag smiles, or mask out their teeth and position pre-set "smiles" into position to see what they would look like if they had a "Venus Smile". What a great marketing tool for the folks at Heraeus Kulzer and all of their Venus Dentists. It has provided may potential makeover patients with a fun glimpse of what "could be"... Try it out for yourself... click here. We also recreated the entire application for a trade show kiosk where an imbedded camera was able to provide a "live" snapshot for visitors. |
Westchester Library System
The Westchester Library System supports 38 libraries in communities throughout the county. The site is a resource that expands and changes constantly with contributions from those 38 member libraries and the WLS staff. We were given the task of building this site around a Content Management System that would support the incredible amount of information that is organized under one site. In addition to the CMS architecture and administrative tools, and the interface design, there were five databases reassembled and integrated under the WLS branded site. Recursos is a spanish language database that was taken from a series of static HTML pages to an MySQL database and administrative control panel to ease additions and maintenance. |
