Splendid! Software Website Design
Ripe from the vine, this one's a funny one... until you read a bit deeper. Splendid Software is a lovely name for a very hardcore company of programmers and strategic thinkers. We know first hand, we work with Splendid Software and JKS regularly. They are fun which is always welcome but also dependable, reliable, and really really good. |
Morgan Construction & Cabinetry, Ltd.
When we saw the type of work they did, we were very excited to design the website for Morgan Construction & Cabinetry, Ltd. The success of a showcase site such as this relies heavily on photography and we were fortunate to have many source images. Of course it also depends on how those images are displayed. We often aim to design marketing support that reflect the quality or level of service that our clients provide. For Morgan, this meant we would be designing an exquisite website. We go the distance for all of our clients just as they do for theirs. Browse the site live online. |
The Peekskill Arts Council
We relaunched the PAC website in the spring of 2010 after two years with one of our very first Drupal® CMS websites. In the 24+ months from the initial launch, we had learned so much, and had developed so many custom applications, we had to bring the site up to date and give those members a great new profile page in which they could publish their own bio's, upload images and have the site resize automatically, and also post their own events. We are quite pleased with the result and have since realized how many other arts organizations could benefit from a website similar to this one. Our Online Community Sites were created to give those organizations, clubs, and galleries, an incredible Content Management System (CMS) that allows them to provide individual artist profile pages, lists of artists on the site, and even taxonomy to categorize by medium. There is also the ability to keep memberships counted and paid for with additional e-commerce. We have an affordable entry-level package if you are an organization and are interested in offering something incredible to your members with a way to generate revenue. |
Sarah Haviland
New York artist and sculptor, Sarah Haviland's website is focused on the artist and her work. "Artistic" websites are a bit different than a typical business website since it is a showcase that needs to reflect the artistic sensibilities of the artist. We see this as an advantage when working with us since our roots do reach down to the fine arts, and we offer a well rounded, aesthetic approach. You won't find that from many commercial website design firms. A dramatic homepage is the opening scene in this website. From there, you can easily navigate through several galleries of sculpture, drawings, and installations. Sarah has the power of Drupal® behind her website- a CMS application that allows her to upload, manage, and categorize her work exactly as she wishes. Most artists we know are quite capable technically, but even for those that may not be so inclined, a Drupal CMS website allows them to keep their site current. Search engines love that too. |
Lori Lustig Executive Search
There are some websites that make fantastic examples of how less makes more impact. We worked with Lori Lustig on this site closely and it was relatively easy because she was so decisive, knowing exactly what she wanted. We are both extremely happy with the results. This site contains examples of some very elegant Flash animation. We are of the opinion that a Flash intro should be engaging and not invite a visitor to "skip" it. We will typically argue to build the intro directly into the home page to increase usability, allowing visitors to navigate from the very first screen. Lori's logo won a Big W Bronze award in 2008 since it was completed prior to the launch of the site, and we were honored twice with this job when the website was also awarded a Big W Silver in 2009.
