Before computers gave the average person the ability to produce a page of designed type with images, there were graphic designers and typesetters. They were skilled in the art of desiging a page that was easy to read and led the readers eye with purpose. It used to only be printed pages but the mid 90's gave us the web page. We see the advatage of having a web page designer with experience with those traditional page layout skills.
