S E (w)O(e)

You have paid your SEO "Expert" to optimize your site and it has been 30 days without any results. Ok, it's not an exact science, there's some factors beyond their control. 60 days out, and you have not seen any real results. You get some explanation- it may make sense, and it may sound like b.s. You begin to wonder. 90 days and no significant changes? Run. Cut your losses and find a reputable provider of search engine optimization.

You've just experienced a common scenario of someone that was ripped off by another useless SEO expert. Now, there are some instances where a legitimate service does not yield stellar results. There are many variables involved, but there are also fundamentals, best practices, practical methods, and experience that will give you your best chances. Beware of companies that do only SEO and nothing else. A clear understanding of website design and development is instrumental in successful results. We know our sites inside and out. We can troubleshoot a site simply by looking at it. If you have been shopping around or researching online, you'll read a lot of the same stuff. You'll hear about "META" tags. You'll hear about submission to search engines, you will hear about inclusion in directories. You will hear a lot of promises and claims.

You will find a wide range of costs associated with this. If it is really inexpensive, it probably won't work. None of this can be automated so don't believe that. If it seems incredibly expensive, it is probably going to hurt--bad. It is a matter of experience, results, and hours spent to do this correctly. So if it seems that the charges are in line with the time that will be spent, it will probably be worthwhile. Whatever you do, do NOT pay in full up front for any great length of time. There will probably be some upfront setup fees so that is not unusual, and then depending on the situation, ongoing charges for regular reporting and additional research as results are monitored.

We would love to provide this service for you but we also rather you don't get robbed if you do go elsewhere. The fewer instances of these disreputable companies being given more opportunities to continue, the better it will be for all of us.

I have seen people, businesses really--spend tremendous amounts of money on Search Engine Optimization and get nothing in return. As far as I now, the thieves that took the money, never intended to do anything even close to the expectations they were selling to those unsuspecting, ignorant folks. Those folks that wanted to believe so entirely that they were going to see an overwhelming success, that when they realize they were left with nothing, and had no resourse, it was completely defeating. I've also seen those same people take out their frustrations on people that actually provide ethical, valuable, effective, search engine optimization. Those honest professionals take the heat for the giant blunders of others- on both sides of the crime.

The people that get ripped off are just as responsible. Use your head. Ask to see results. Ask to speak with references. Check those references. Look for yourself. There are many ways of getting confused by people that will show you traffic stats and reports about number of visits. Be logical. What is the word or phrase being used in the search? Try it out- does the website in question appear at the top of the natural search results? That one small exercise is the essence of SEO- being found in search engines for specific, relevant key words and phrases.

We provide some of the best SEO available and have the results and references to prove it. It is incredibly valuable when it works. In fact, look at our portfolio- take any site we've built, determine what a relative search term would be, and see where the site comes up in the search. We deliver and we do not make a lot of confusing promises. We can get you found but that's not the end of it. Once your website is found in a search, what is the response from visitors? How does it look? Are you getting any responses? When was it built? Does it take advantage of any new social media opportunities? Does you SEO expert give you anything other than a lot of explanations or excuses? Dump them if they don't.

The business of the Internet, and websites being designed and developed, and peripheral services such as SEO and other online marketing is marred by people that are waiting to take advantage of the fears, ignorance, and confusion of the people that are willing to take a shot at becoming part of the web as a legitimate business or to bring their existing business online.

See you at the top!
